The range
For over forty years the Xpelair GX series has remained the specifiers’ classic solution to domestic ventilation applications.Today’s 5th generation of GX units remains in tune with the times. They retain their hallmark rugged reliability and styling, and the range has been expanded to include innovations for a range of specialist tasks. Now supplied with longer ladder strips.
Xpelair GX models are purpose designed for use in domestic kitchens, utility rooms, large bathrooms and commercial applications such as small offices. They are highly efficient axial fans suitable for direct ventilation to the outside. Window, wall or panel mounting options are available using the universal mounting kit provided. All have a stylish white housing with integrated safety finger guard and silent shutter operation using an electro-thermal actuator (except GXC6 where it is pullcord operated).
GXC models have an integral pullcord actuator. Timer and humidistat versions are also available along with multi-speed models. GXC6SC is also suitable for professional speed adjustment where there is a fuel burning appliance in the room. A trickle ventilation facility is available for background ventilation when not in use.
Xpelair GX and GXC6 fans conform to Building Regulations mechanical ventilation for kitchens. They are designed for easy cleaning and maintenance, are BEAB approved and are rated as Class 1 earthed appliance.
For larger kitchens, especially in older properties, a larger volume of air flow may be appropriate in order to achieve the recommended air change rates. For these applications the GXC9 may be more appropriate.

- The extract fan shall be suitable for window, wall, or panel mounting. An optional WK tube shall be used for wall installation
- The motor shall be high efficiency, totally enclosed, with sealed for life bearings and safety thermal overload protection
- The motor /impeller assembly shall be housed in a rigid ABS moulded duct to ensure even, optimum impeller tip clearance
- The inner grille shall be moulded in white ABS with a high gloss finish and incorporate a finger guard and removable shutter cassette for ease of maintenance
- The impeller shall be pre-balanced and removable for cleaning by means of a shaft screw fixing
- A trickle vent option shall be incorporated into the mechanism to provide 4000mm2 passive ventilation when the fan is Off
- Operation of the shutter shall be by a silent electrothermal actuator on GX6 variants and GXC6T; pullcord on GXC6 and GXC9
- The unit shall be BEAB approved
- T models shall include integral timer function adjustable between 2-20mins
- GX6HT shall include integral humidity function (50-90%RH) and timer
- GX6HT2 shall include integral humidity and timer function with 2 speeds
- GXC6SC shall be speed adjustable
