Under Floor Heating

The Soleglow range.

Key features
With a low capital cost and easy installation, underfloor heating can be a very attractive proposition. But combine this with the clean, even and draught free heat that is given out, and the fact that there are no unsightly radiators to collect dust and hamper future redecoration, then the arguments in favour of this system become overwhelming.
The range
Remarkably easy to install electric mat system
A nominal 3mm thick
Suitable for any floor covering
Ideal for large or small installations
No cold spots
Engineered to a very high standard - heat is dissipated evenly across the floor providing draught free and energy efficient heating
Uses a thermostatic controller to adjust the temperature electronically
Multi-controller offers 7 day programming
Soleglow requires only a single cable power sourceWith Soleglow underfloor heating, cold feet really are a thing of the past. The heat emitted from under the floor gently dissipates into the room, giving an even, draught-free and comfortable warmth. Independent tests have shown that if your feet are warm, the air temperature in your room can be set a few degrees lower without affecting how you feel. A reduction of 2-3 degrees will make a dramatic impact on the amount of energy that is used resulting in much lower fuel bills.
The range of controls available from Creda-Heating allows you to obtain the best from your under-floor heating system. The controller enables the floor temperature to be controlled via a thermostat situated under the flooring. The more advanced multi-controller allows 7-day programming of all ‘On and Off’ times and the setting of comfort temperatures and reduced set-back temperatures.
Being only 3mm thick the underfloor heating-mat is suitable for installation in both new-build or refurbishment projects, and can be used with any type of floor, including ceramic tiles, carpet, laminated or wooden floors.

1 kW of electricity costs about 7p per hour at peak rate (consult your electricity supplier for accurate prices). Creda Soleglow mats are all rated at 160Watts/m2. Below are calculations based on the floor having a concrete sub-floor without insulation (with insulation running costs can be cut by as much as 50%) and the system running for the full hour without thermostatic control.
1.0m2 - 1.12 pence per hour
1.5m2 - 1.68 pence per hour
2.0m2 - 2.24 pence per hour
2.5m2 - 2.80 pence per hour
3.0m2 - 3.36 pence per hour
4.0m2 - 4.48 pence per hour
5.0m2 - 5.60 pence per hour
6.0m2 - 6.72 pence per hour
7.0m2 - 7.84 pence per hour
Operating the system with a thermostat greatly reduces running costs, as the system will switch off once it has reached the programmed temperature.
If the system is to be used as the sole source of heating it is important that there is insulation beneath the heating. There are tile backer insulation boards on the market; available in thickness of as little as 10mm, which are ideal for floor insulation.
Depending on the thickness of the tiles/floor finish, the warm uptime is usually 40-60 minutes.
